Such a comfortable house and plenty of room for our extended family! And the kitchen is perfect for preparing Thanksgiving dinner. The weather (mostly) cooperated – high’s in the 60’s, so we were able to enjoy the porch and the views, as well as walks in the woods and along the back roads. A wonderful, relaxing weekend full of laughter and love – we look forward to coming here again! - The Sterling Family Pittsburgh, Weedsport & Canandaigua Hunting & Relaxing Guest: Jake (NJ) Date of stay: 11/2/14 Review submitted: 12/11/15 Thank you so much for opening your hearts and country home to us! My friends and I were looking for a place where our wives could relax while we went bow hunting. This was a dream come true. We harvested several deer but had a hard time keeping ours eyes on the abundant wildlife when the sun rose above Seneca Lake! This is God's country and we'll be back next year. Amazing place for a big family and friends vacation Guest: Miland Date of stay: August 22, 2014 Review Submitted: August 27, 2014 Hi this is an amazing place for big family and friends. Really, we love this place.Very quiet place and peaceful. We were a group of 8 adults and 8 kids visiting this place and we stayed two nights. The kids enjoyed playing as much as they can. Amish family is really good. Pauline Weaver is the owner is a very good person. Her husband is a really nice man. Our kids rode on the horse car. They enjoyed it. This house has a tree swing; it's really amazing. The Amish family made lot of things like a jam, cheese, bread, quilts and lot of things. It's really tasty and great. At night, we were in this house and the lake is amazing. Lake, field, tree, this house is all together like a haven. Wow, we can't forgot this place. Amish Guest Farmhouse is the best place for vacation in the Finger Lakes. Much needed break materialized! Guest: Grace Date stayed:June 2014 Review submitted: July 1, 2014 This was an AMAZING place to stay! It was perfect for our family's needs. We met some extended family from a different state there, so all of us could fit under one roof. The house is GORGEOUS! The website doesn't quite do it justice. The Mennonite family who owns and operates the house are very kind and welcoming, as well as accommodating...anything we needed or asked about, they were right there to take care of it. They run a family country store on the property, and this was very charming, full of wonderful foodstuffs, like breads, jams, syrup, etc. and also some home decor and quilting material. The upstairs of the store (an old barn, actually) had handmade furniture in it for sale. We have some younger girls in the family, and they enjoyed hanging out at the store and helping, as well as petting the horse that brings the owners into work for the day from their family dairy farm nearby. There is a gorge and hiking near the house, so that was fun for the adventurous. The view of the lake was beautiful and there were plenty of activities to do (sunny or rainy days). We enjoyed a visit to Watkins Glen gorge, seeing 19 waterfalls on an amazing hike. We settled right into the house and its beautiful kitchen accommodated us well. It was VERY hard to leave this place. Such a peaceful setting and plenty of room for people to gather or even get away for some quiet at times (I took advantage of this when the loving chaos of 10-15 children got to be too much!). I truly wish we could have stayed longer....hope to return again someday! Thank you to the Weaver family for providing such a lovely "home away from home". Reunion Weekend Guest: HWS Crew Alumni (Carlisle, MA) Date of stay: 09/27/13 Review Submitted: 10/02/13 We had a great stay. It’s a classic lakeside house and was large enough to comfortably fit 12 adults and many young kids. The kitchen area is perfect for large party cooking. The views can’t be beat. The owner is extremely helpful and nice. Thanks for the great stay. It was big enough for everyone who came (some from New England and some from Ohio). The side porch was great for conversation and games. The little children enjoyed themselves despite no TV which we already knew there wouldn’t be one. The shop was great (lots of homemade goodies) and the family very friendly. I would definitely recommend to anyone who has a larger family 12+ people. Date of stay: 08/01/13 Review Submitted: 08/11/13 My family rented this wonderful farmhouse for my youngest son’s wedding on Seneca Lake. We knew from the moment we entered that this was the house for us. We hosted the rehearsal dinner (after obtaining permission) and the kitchen was PERFECT for hosting. The entire house (the numerous areas to sit/relax and the side porch) gave everyone a place to visit and the kids were free to play games. The house has such character and warmth…everyone that visited loved the house and requested a tour. The bedrooms are spacious and when desired, everyone had a quiet/private area. There were 13 actually staying at the farmhouse with many visitors stopping from time to time and no one ever felt crowded. We are normally uncomfortable when staying away from our home but this farmhouse felt like home…the entire home was clean, the linens provided were great, everything was as promised. We had quite a bit happening…rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding, etc. …but Pauline or one of her family were always helpful. Our family and visitors were able to play games into the morning hours without bothering the other house members or neighbors. The location makes it an easy drive to Geneva, the lake or the local wineries. It was a privilege to stay in the Weaver View Farmhouse and we would recommend this home to anyone visiting the Seneca Lake region having a need for a large home. The description does not adequately describe the beauty of this home…you get so much more! From the time we pulled into the driveway until the time we pulled away, was truly wonderful in a simple kind of way. I come from a family of 6 children and was raised on a farm in a highly populated Amish community so this took me back a few years…a time when life was less complicated…a time before computers and cell phones. The spacious kitchen was my favorite room in the house…and with all the ceiling fans it was the coolest room. I enjoy cooking with my adult children and there was plenty of room for that. We enjoyed meeting some of the Weaver family and sharing family stories. Another favorite room was our downstairs bedroom that allowed me to wake every morning to the view of Seneca Lake. We live only 15 miles from this farmhouse, but would consider it again for a large family gathering as it is centrally located for my family that lives to the east and west of the Finger Lakes. This property has just recently been acquired by the Weavers and they acknowledge that there is much to be done. We talked about some of the plans they have to develop the property while maintaining the beauty of simplicity and I am excited to watch the progress. I will definitely stop when I am in the area even if it’s just to pay a little visit to her shop for some amazing pickles! Our family will have such great memories of our time at Weaver Farm!We thoroughly enjoyed watching the activities of the farm and its location was so convenient to Hobart’s campus. The whole gang marveled at your gorgeous renovations and hoe perfectly it accommodated our big family! One of its best features is the lack of gadgets! No TV is a refreshing change and encouraged lots of wonderful conversation. Peaceful, relaxing get-away Guest: Karen (Penn Yan, NY) Date of stay: 04/19/13 Review Submitted: 05/01/13 Had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home a few weeks ago. Large, spacious kitchen, beautiful winding staircase, and a unique character to every room. The view of Seneca Lake is spectacular with the morning sunrise. I would recommend this place, as it’s in a wonderful location along the Seneca Lake Wine trail, if you’re planning to go wine tasting around the lake. Date of stay: 02/07/13 Review Submitted: 04/16/13 Our large family had no trouble enjoying every moment of our stay at this lovely farm house. Throughout the home, there is wonderful woodwork and cabinetry. The newly remodeled kitchen is outstanding with it’s full-sized refrigerator and full-sized freezer, both in the kitchen, along with the double oven, Jenn-Air stove-top, and dishwasher. The convenience and size of this kitchen made it a pleasure to make meals for our crowd, and with the many stools around the countertop and the kitchen table, we had plenty of room to enjoy the meals and views of Seneca Lake. The house has 5 large bedrooms on the second floor and another one on the first. The first floor has three living room areas, along with a splendid dining room. The generous floor plan allows for a great flow of traffic throughout the house. The front foyer has a gorgeous staircase and there is a back staircase, too, which comes in handy from the back bedrooms. Conveniently located off the kitchen is the laundry area, and even with handling all of our laundry, we always had plenty of hot water for our bathing. The internet kept us in touch with our business back home, and yet we never lost the peace of living on a farm. Our children loved playing hide-and-seek around all of the picturesque barns on the property, and enjoyed swinging on the ropes attached to the nearby trees. The picnic table on the side porch made a lovely place to sit and read, and a very fun place for the kids to enjoy a board game. The Mennonite family that owns the home is very friendly and helpful, and a pleasure to work with. Every view from the house is pleasant, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We would gladly choose this vacation home again anytime we were in the area.
